Inspired by real events, this moving play by Pearl Cleage captures the voices of five women waiting in line to pay their respects to Coretta Scott King. Through their stories, A Song for Coretta explores themes of activism, resilience, and the lasting impact of one woman’s legacy. The play explores the life of Coretta Scott King after her husband's assassination, highlighting her continued fight for civil rights and her dedication to carrying on his vision.  A powerful tribute to the strength of Black women and the fight for justice.

Rated PG-13 for mature themes and language

Helen - A Black woman, aged late 40s to early 70s

Mona Lisa - a Black woman, aged late 20's to early 40's

Zora - a Black woman, aged 18 to late 20s

Gwen - a Black woman, aged 18 to late 20s

Keisha - a Black teenager, over the age of 18 (unless with parental permission) and not over the age of 26

All actors will be asked to read the following side (memorization is not required)
